Description

As a Tribal Affairs Liaison you will:

  • Serve as the Tribal Program Manager, responsible for Tribal relationships WAPA-wide and the in the Colorado River Storage Project and Desert Southwest Tribal programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all related Federal laws, regulations and Executive Orders.
  • Responsible for managing relationships with over 200 sovereign, federally-recognized Tribes and state, regional and national intertribal organizations on a wide variety of national and regional programs, policies and issues.
  • Represent WAPA on Tribal interests in marketing issues with regional staff, stakeholders and customers as they relate to Tribal and/or renewable energy.
  • Serve as the organizational authority and spokesperson to other Federal and state government agencies, sovereign native nation governments, top Tribal and industry officials, congressional staff and committees.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • This employer participates in the e-Verify program.

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • This position requires the ability to operate a government vehicle. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Defensive Drivers certification and have a valid state driver's license, in order to visit field sites, some of which are remote or in locations affected by natural disasters. Defensive Driver's Training will be completed upon employment.
